Sudan has recalled her ambassador to Kenya after the head of state President Ruto met with Rapid Support Force(RSF) commander Hamdan Dagalo at State House Nairobi on wednesday.

In the meeting with Dagalo, Ruto noted the ongoing Intergovernmental Authority on Devel;pment(IGAD) talks should bring about a political settlement tha would effect a lasting peace in Sudan. Ruto said they were looking forward to nothing but a peaceful resolution anda stable neighbour.

Ruto in the meeting said that Kenya appreaciates the commitment by the RSF and its General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo in ending the conflict in Sudan through dialogue. Sudan joins the Democratic republic of Congo who had also recalled its Ambassador in Kenya after rebel leaders met in Nairobi something that didnt go well with the newly re_ elected leader Felix Tshisekedi.

Dagalo, whose Rapid Support Forces have been at war with the regular army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan since April, has been touring African capitals on his first visit abroad of the conflict.

He already visited Uganda, Ethiopia and Djibouti  and is currently in South Africa, to the anger of Burhan, whose administration has lost ground to the paramilitaries in recent months and is eager to deny them international legitimacy.

The war has killed more than 12,190 people, according to a conservative estimate from the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project, and forced more than seven million to flee their homes, according to UN figures.
